Little Cookie has 5 seatbelts and sleeps up to 4 adults, making it a popular choice for families and small groups travelling who want an easy-to-drive RV rental in Ireland. Some guests use the awning tent for a 5th sleeper, and families with young kids often find that 3 children can comfortably share one bed.
The main bed measures 2,000 x 1,500 mm, while the loft bed under the pop-up roof is 2,000 x 1,200 mm.
Big Cookie has 4 seatbelts and sleeps 2 adults and 2 kids. A small adult may fit in the children’s bunk, but please check the measurements to be sure. The main bed measures 193cm x 136cm, and the kids’ bunk measures 160cm x 122cm on the left side and 190cm x 122cm on the right.
All our Dublin campervan rentals are automatic, which is ideal for US visitors who may not be used to driving manual transmission vehicles. Automatics make driving on Ireland’s narrow rural roads more relaxed and comfortable, especially if you normally drive on the right-hand side of the road in the US.
No, we do not currently offer pet-friendly vans.
All of our RV hires in Ireland come with unlimited mileage, allowing you to explore Ireland freely without worrying about extra fees.
Each campervan is stocked with everything you need for a comfortable Ireland road trip — kitchenware, gas hob, fridge, heating, and optional bedding. Just bring food and your personal items.
Bedding can be added at checkout.
A double set (€50) includes 2 pillows, a double duvet, and a cover sheet.
A single set (€30) includes 1 pillow, a single duvet, and a cover sheet.
If you need pillows, you must add a bedding set.
The VW Grand California includes a full bathroom with shower, sink and toilet — popular for American travellers who want a full motorhome rental experience in Ireland.
The VW California Beach includes a portable toilet.
Yes, child seats and booster seats are available at checkout.
Irish law requires a full car seat for under 4s, and a booster for ages 4–12.
No. Big Cookie has gas heating and Little Cookie uses an auxiliary battery. Both heaters run overnight without needing electric hook-up — helpful for wild camping in Ireland.
Prices range from €99 per night in the off-season to €259 in summer.

Yes. A bike rack can be added for €100, holding up to 2 bikes (max 35kg).

Yes, you can travel anywhere on the island of Ireland — Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Wild camping isn’t officially permitted in Ireland, but many travellers do it responsibly without issues. We recommend using trusted apps like Park4Night to find suitable overnight parking spots. Always leave no trace—take all rubbish with you and ensure your toilet cassette and grey water are emptied at proper disposal points.
If you wish to use campsite facilities, you’ll need to book in for at least one night. For added convenience, Cookies Campers provides waste water and toilet cassette disposal at our Dublin premises for all our renters.
A note on protected areas: For example, Keem Beach on Achill Island prohibits camping on the large grassy area known as the Manchair due to erosion concerns.

arly or late return requires booking an additional night, this is the only way we can guarantee the van will be available.
Pick-up and drop-off are at our Rathcoole, Dublin depot.
We are 30 minutes from Dublin Airport by taxi (€50 approx.).
You can also take the Big Green Bus to Red Cow tram stop, where we can arrange collection with 2 weeks’ notice.

Not right now, For a quick and direct journey, hop into a taxi waiting at the airport, this will take 25-30 minutes and is by far the easiest way, especially with luggage. Taxi’s cost about €50-60 and are readily available at the airport. The local taxi app is called FreeNow and could be useful to download if you are staying in the city a few days.
Yes, onsite parking is available for the duration of your trip (limited spaces).
A refundable €3,000 security deposit (insurance excess) is required and is refunded once the campervan is returned undamaged.
You can reduce the excess to €500 with our optional insurance packages.
Refunds take 3–5 working days depending on your bank. Credit cards are fastest.

Yes, a standard full car licence (Category B) is sufficient to drive all our campervans. Drivers must be aged 25-70.
We can organise insurance for over 70’s but please contact us prior to booking.
Driving licence must be issue by one of the following: Ireland, UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and EU or EEA country.
Please contact us in advance of booking if you have penalty points on your licence.
Yes, travel within Ireland and Northern Ireland is allowed. We love that our Dublin campervans can travel across the full Island of Ireland ensuring you don’t miss out on any hidden gems.
Unfortunately, our vans cannot travel into the mainland UK or Europe.
We generally do not allow campervans to go to festivals.
Your RV hire in Ireland includes 24-hour roadside assistance across the island. If anything happens, simply call the support number provided at pick-up and help will be arranged immediately.

Our basic packages include most things you need for your Volkswagen campervan trip. We pride ourselves on being transparent and there are no hidden costs. We offer a range of excess reduction packages to reduce the security deposit. The Security Deposit is €3,000 and we have several options to reduce this:

Towels are now available for €20 per person which includes one bath towel and one hand towel.
Your rental includes a partially filled gas bottle. To avoid running out, we also include an extra gas bottle.
A security deposit/insurance excess of €3,000 is required, fully refundable upon returning the campervan undamaged. Explore our packages to reduce this deposit/insurance excess to €500.
Our Stress Free package covers all types of damage to windscreen, mirrors or tyres. More information is available here.
Absolutely, all our campervans are equipped with ISOFIX fittings for baby and children’s car seats, available for hire at €45.

Our campervans cannot accommodate a travel cot, ensuring ample space for your comfort and travel essentials.
Water refills for your campervan can be done at numerous campsites or motorway services across Ireland, complete with the necessary water hose and connector we provide.
While our campervans don't have in-built sat navs, they're equipped with Bluetooth and USB-C ports, ready for you to connect to Apple and Android Carplay using your mobile device for navigating the scenic routes of Ireland.
To ensure our campervans remain in pristine condition for all our hirers, we operate a strict no-smoking policy inside the vehicles.
Our campervans are a Wi-Fi-free zone, encouraging you to fully engage with your travel and companions.
All campervan hires feature an easy-to-set-up awning, perfect for those sunny Irish afternoons. Remember, it's advisable not to use the awning in strong winds or stormy weather.
Yes, our campervans are outfitted with several 3-pin sockets for use when connected to an electric hookup, as well as USB sockets for charging your devices as you traverse the roads of Dublin and beyond.
All our campervans available for hire in Dublin are fitted with automatic transmission.
Our Volkswagen Grand California model comes complete with both a shower and toilet. The Volkswagen Beach model, however, does not include these facilities.
It's not essential to be connected at all times, but for extended travels around Ireland, we recommend hooking up to the mains electricity available at campsites every few days.
We require a minimum hire of 4 nights from September to June and 7 nights during the bustling months of July and August for your Irish road trip.
To secure your booking, a 30% deposit is needed. The balance is charged 6 weeks before you start your journey. If you're booking within 6 weeks of arrival, the full amount is required upfront.
No the van is only insured for the island of Ireland (Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland)
Core hours for collection are 2pm-4.30pm Monday to Friday and returns 9am-11.30am. We can facilitate collections and drops off outside of these hours for an additional fee:
At Cookies Campers, (as with most campervan rental companies), we require a security deposit in case of damage to the vehicle. The security deposit will be charged to your card on arrival. (The card must be in the name of one of the drivers). We offer a range of packages to reduce the security deposit and also include some of the extras you might like to include.
It is important that you are comfortable with your level of liability in the event of damage to the vehicle.
The security deposit covers the cost of any loss or damage from any one incident that has occurred to the vehicle whilst it has been on hire. The security deposit is charged at the time of check out to your bank card and fully refunded once the vehicle is returned undamaged.
Please note it can take 3-5 working days for your bank to return money to your account. We recommend using a credit card as this ensures the quickest return of your deposit.
Please note we do not accept American Express or Revolut.
In the event of any loss or damage, the hirer is liable for up to the value of this amount.
